The Everyday Life of a Real Estate Agent - The Beginning
The Everyday Life of a Real Estate Agent: The Beginning
Some say real estate is *cutthroat*, *brutal*, and *not for the faint-hearted*
Well, they’re not entirely wrong.
Where I come from, I suppose I got *lucky*. Within the first week of stepping into real estate, I landed a joint venture deal a big break by any standard. But as anyone in this business knows, luck often comes entangled in drama. The experienced agent I partnered with? He demanded the major share of the brokerage. That's when I realized: negotiation skills aren’t just for buyers and sellers. (Shout-out to all those school fights .. turns out, throwing words in a heated banter does come in handy.)
Moral of the story? *Nothing comes free* Well said. *Clap*
A Quick Tip for Newcomers:
Real estate isn’t about chasing money.
It’s about chasing “the deal”
The money only follows if you chase right.
The Real Struggles in Real Estate
Every new agent walks into this world excited, hungry, and (sometimes) a bit naive. Here's a glimpse of what typically follows in the early grind:
That one Realtor who promises you the world... then ends up stealing your brokerage.
That one landlord who gives you a stare like you just asked for their kidney when you ask for full brokerage.
That one 100+crore land deal you think is *definitely* going to happen… while 50 other agents think the same (until it doesn’t happen and no one takes the blame).
That one habit of mentally spending your commission before the deal’s even closed (*don’t lie*, we’ve all done it) hahaha.
Sound familiar? Don’t worry you’re not alone. This is the classic rookie cycle. (And yes, I’m still in my early days. *Wink*)
The “Motivating” Part About Real Estate?
That it motivates you to...survive. đŸ˜…
But in all honesty, what keeps a lot of us going isn’t the glam or even the money it’s the thrill of the chase, the art of the deal, and the rush of solving five problems at once while holding your phone in your teeth.
So here’s to all the agents out there figuring it out one misstep at a time. If you’re just getting started, remember:
You’ll never forget your first deal or your first betrayal. Both are equally unforgettable.
Let the journey begin.
